Batch PDF to images without an upload step

ToolShelf官方2026-09-05 04:22Share

The PDF-to-images tool handles whole batches in one pass. A few notes from using it regularly:

Resolution is the main trade-off. 2x (~192 DPI) is right for screen review; 3x starts to get heavy if you are converting more than 20 pages at once, because every page becomes a full canvas in memory.

Format: PNG keeps text edges crisp; JPEG is worth it only when you are going to compress further anyway.

Page ranges accept the usual 1-3,5,7-9 form, and anything out of range is ignored rather than failing the run.

One limitation worth knowing: the tool caps a single run at 80 pages. That is deliberate — past that point a browser tab starts competing with everything else on the machine. Split large documents into two runs instead.

Adding one detail: the 80-page cap counts pages in your range, not pages in the document. A range of 1-10 on a 500-page file is fine.

The in-memory point matters for very large files. A 300-page render at 3x will hold a lot of canvases at once — worth splitting.

Renders happen sequentially rather than in parallel, deliberately. Parallel canvases on a large batch is how a tab runs out of memory.
